There are three recognised drive train systems used; screw-jacks, Serapid lift-chains and GALA Spiralifts.
Screw-jack systems are rarely specified due to the complexity of the construction work required to build the elevator pit.
They are however; still widely in use and require maintenance work on an annual basis.
Serapid lift-chains and Spiralifts are the two competing systems currently available and both have advantages that should be explored during the specification stage.
MRL Systems Ltd is able to provide a design and build service as well as maintenance services for all types of orchestra pit/stage elevators.
